Dennis Devoy & Stephanie Dinkel explore the simple beauty of hair

My inspiration for these pieces was originally from Karl Blossfeldt’s images of plants and buds. What I was taking from them was their “imperfect simple beauty”. I started these about two years ago by collecting different pieces from the places I travel for work and kept playing with how I could add them to the medium I work with, which is hair. The colored wefts were another project I did several years ago inspired by the muted colors of fall in Wisconsin. I felt like both of these projects complimented each other.
