Britta Phillips plays bass in Luna and has recorded three Dean & Britta albums and scored several films (most notably, Noah Baumbach’s “The Squid & The Whale” and “Mistress America”) with husband Dean Wareham. She was also the singing voice of 80s cartoon character Jem. Her debut solo album, Luck or Magic, will be released April 29th on Double Feature Records and contains 5 original songs and 5 covers, including singles by Agnetha of ABBA, Dennis Wilson of the Beach Boys and The Cars’ “Drive.” AV Club said “rife with the gossamer, exotic melodies so synonymous with Phillip’s other musical projects…Luck or Magic allows Phillips to shine, exhibiting that beyond being a fine vocal and instrumentalist, she’s also a superb songwriter.”
